Wendy Matthews

Wendy Jo Matthews 66, of Plano Texas passed away on December 21, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Wendy was born on May 14, 1955 to Jarrell and Jo Matthews in Rusk Texas. Wendy graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1973 where she excelled in academics, was active in the band and in student government.
While living in Grand Saline Wendy was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church where she frequently assisted worship by playing the church organ and piano.

Following her graduation from Grand Saline High Wendy went on to study at the University of Texas in Austin.
After graduating with a degree in communications and information systems Wendy went on to work for several fortune 500 companies as a systems and support engineer.

In May of 2011 Wendy reunited with and married her high school sweetheart Michael Ramos.
Wendy was an accomplished musician and was a ravenous reader of fiction and non-fiction books.
Wendy loved her family and friends but held a special place in her heart for a long succession of cats.
Wendy was predeceased by her Father Jarrell Matthews, her mother Jo Matthews, her sister Gayle Matthews and her spouse Michael Ramos. She is survived by her brother Rick Navarro of Libertyville, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held by family and friends 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Grand Saline Old School Museum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Autumn Wood Hospice Care, Grand Saline or Salvation Army.
