David Maxwell

Mr. David Allen Maxwell, 74, passed away April 10, 2024, at his residence in Alba. He was born July 13, 1949, in Peoria, IL, to Eugene L. and Clara Lowe Maxwell. On December 10, 1976, he married Frances Lucille “Toodie” Davis in Dallas. David had lived in Alba since 1995. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and harassing the waitresses at the local cafes. He was a truck driver, mechanic, and also a fishing guide on Lake Fork for several years. David was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He also owned and operated Maxwell’s Roadside Café, at Lake Fork. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 41 years, “Toodie” Maxwell; son, Richard Westervelt; brother, Gene “Butch” Maxwell; and sister, Donna Wright.

Survivors include three sons, David Maxwell and wife Jess of Chilton, WI, Steve Maxwell and wife MaeRean of Chilton, WI, and Tim Westervelt and wife Lisa of Alba; daughter, Melissa Williams of Tyler; two sisters, Barb Bolander and husband Joe of Washington, IL, and Peggy Maxwell and partner Shoupie of Morton, IL; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; best friends, Kenny and Becky Moser; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for David will be held at a later date under the direction of his friends and family.
