Services for Bettie Wheeler McCellon, 81, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring & Sis. Delana Wheeler officiating.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mrs. McCellon passed away January 29, 2016, in Grand Saline. She was born March 5, 1933, in Fruitvale to Bennie & Lela McDougle Wheeler. She had lived in Garland before moving to the Grand Saline area in 1998. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and their Friendship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her Fun After Fifty-Five group and had volunteered at Cozby-Germany Hospital. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Abrahamson; daughter, Susan Doyle; brothers, Stanley Wheeler, Vernon Wheeler, Bennie Wheeler and Larry Wheeler; and sister, Kathryn Abrahamson.
Survivors include sons & daughter-in-law, Terry & Pam McCellon of Rockwall and Jerry McCellon of Mexia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie & Linda Wheeler of Fruitvale and Ray & Dorothy Wheeler of Garden Valley; sisters, Bobbie Jeter of Zwolle, LA and Stella Noble of Turlock, CA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Reflections Hospice or Anderson Nursing Center.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
