EMORY – Services for Alexander Anthony McCoy, 66, of Emory, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Lake Fork Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Perry Crisp, Bro. David Smith, and Bro. Chris Horton officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery, Emory, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. McCoy passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in a Sulphur Springs hospital.
He was born October 16, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late Willie Clayton and Frances M. Salletti McCoy. He married Mary Lee Locke on January 15, 1965, in Grand Prairie. He lived most of his life in Grand Prairie before moving to Emory 11 years ago. He served as President of Grand Prairie Bass Club, and LTV Bass Club. He worked in management for LTV, an aircraft manufacturing company in Grand Prairie. He taught teen ethics for boys in Grand Prairie and received numerous professional achievement awards at LTV. He taught 3rd and 4th graders, led singing for the Children’s Department, and served as a deacon at Lake Fork Baptist Church where he was a member.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Fuller; father-in-law, Foy J. Locke; niece, Rachel Rochelle McCoy; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary McCoy of Emory; daughters, Alicia Burchard and husband Robert, Jr. of Burleson, and Dina McCoy of Arlington; grandchildren, Erica Whitlock, Jason Whitlock, Jeremy Whitlock, and Riley Burchard; 2 great-grandchildren, Brayden Alexander Albert and Parker Anthony Whitlock; brothers, Elby McCoy and wife, Scharrie, of Gun Barrel City and Marion L. McCoy and wife, Lela, of Burleson; 2 sisters; mother-in-law, Jessie Locke of Emory; sister-in-law, Debra Wycough of Gun Barrel City; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are John Lee, Ronnie Davenport, Claude McAdams, Jeremy Whitlock, Jason Whitlock, Robert Burchard, Elby McCoy, and Marion McCoy. Honorary pallbearers are deacons: David Allen, Bud Allred, Tod Byrd, Jerry Clower, Terry Eaton, Bo Fite, Bennie James, Robert Lane, Bobby Ogle, Charles Patrick, Jim Purdy, Billy Ray Sears, Dan Skinner, Bill Stewart, James Van Winkle, Ted Warren, Ben Wedeking, and Don Weems.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
