ALBA – Funeral services for David Wilson McKenzie, 70, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, formerly of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, in the Chapel of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Greg Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. McKenzie passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, in a hospice facility in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
He was born Saturday, April 19, 1947, in Mineola, to the late Joseph W. and Francis Ellen Grumbles McKenzie. He graduated from Alba-Golden High School in 1965 and received his BBA and Master’s Degrees from East Texas State University. He married Teresa Carol Graf on November 7, 1970, in Vernon. David had lived in South Carolina for the last 5 years. He was a Christian, avid golfer, and a member of North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He worked 35 years for AT&T as a District Manager of Finance and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers Club, a charitable organization working with United Way.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Teresa McKenzie of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; son, Chris McKenzie of Dacula, Georgia; daughter, Amy Emery of Greenville, South Carolina; brother, Darrell and wife Jean McKenzie of Ben Wheeler; sister, Jo Ellen and husband Frank West of Alba; three grandchildren, Ella Emery, Lili Emery, and Hayden McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Keith Barnes, Bryan McKenzie, James McKenzie, Mark Hooks, Clint Harris, and Michael Dan Graf.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association, 139 RCR 2233, Emory, Texas 75440.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
