Alfonso “Wello” Medrano
Services for Alfonso “Wello” Medrano, 75, of Grand Saline will be held at Bartley Funeral Home on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. David Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline.
Mr. Medrano passed away August 31, 2013. He was born March 16, 1938 to Alfredo and Carlota Mijares Medrano. He lived most of his life in Ft. Worth and moved to Grand Saline in 1997. He worked as a furniture maker and served in the United States Army in Korea.
“Wello” was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alfredo Medrano, Jr.; two sisters, Lupe Morales and Louisa Martinez.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Skeeter Fowler of Grand Saline; one step-daughter, Cheri Kay Payne of Mineola; one brother and sister-in-law, Antonio and Lupe Medrano of Houston; eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Trene Macias of Ft. Worth; Susie and Ysmael Barrera of Rotan; Adela Flores of Houston; Jane Barrera of Houston; Maria Rodriguez of Houston; Margie Aguilar of Houston; Barbara and Everado Soto of Houston; Carolyn and Calixtro Lopez of Lubbock; one sister-in-law, Aida Medrano of Rotan; three grandchildren, Koltyn Fowler, Austyn Fowler, and Daltyn Fowler of Grand Saline; and two step-grandchildren, Justyn Payne and Sarah Payne of Mineola; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Koltyn Fowler, Austyn Fowler, Daltyn Fowler, Brent Person, Mason Hendrix, and Justyn Payne.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, September 1, at Bartley Funeral Home.
