GRAND SALINE – Services for Shirley D. Miller, 79, of Grand Saline are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Taylor officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Alba, Texas.
Mrs. Miller passed away February 28, 2015, in Tyler, She was born March 23, 1935, in Blue, Oklahoma, to Delbert and Tennie Eveline Stilwell Birdsong. She lived most of her life in Irving, Texas, spent many years in Flower Mound, and the last 31 years in Grand Saline. She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church and the Rejoicers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Miller was a member of the National V8 Ford Club for 47 years and the East Texas Lazy 8 Car Club. She was an avid dog lover and could name any tree in the woods. She was active in the community and a member of Fun After Fifty-five at Main Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Birdsong and Tennie and Haskell Bertram; her husband of 57 years, Buddy Miller; brother-in-law, Woody Tyson; and son-in-law, Jarrett Guidry.
Survivors include her son, Kelly Lee Miller of Grand Saline; daughter, Vicki Lynn Guidry of Canton; sister-in-law, Joy York of Plano; sisiter, Jyme Lee Tyson of Grand Saline; four grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Paige Guidry, Cortney Guidry, and Cathryn Allen; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Logan, Bryant, Payton, Emily, Benjamin, Alissa, and Kynslee; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Derek Tyson, Daniel Miller, Donovan Tyson, Bryan Davis, Jimmy Anderson, and Kelly Lee Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Rejoicers Sunday School Class of Main Street Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bartley Funeral Home.
