Josias "Joey" Moore

Services for Josias “Joey” Moore, 15, of Ben Wheeler, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Roundflat Pentecostal Church with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Billy Lomax officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Burial will be in Prairie Springs Cemetery, Ben Wheeler.
Joey passed away February 22, 2014 at his home. He was born November 19, 1998 in Garland. Joey was a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church, had lived in Ben Wheeler for the last 9 years and was a Van High School student. He became a Facebook celebrity with a dedicated page “Prayers for Joey”. He was an honorary team member of the 2007 UT Tyler Patriot Baseball Champions and is honored in the Texas Sports Hall of Fame with the Patriot baseball team. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lance Dorrough and Bobby Ellsworth; sister, Angela Rhea Moore; and grandparents, Carl & Faye Moore, Clifford Spence Lynch and Alma Johanna Carter.
Survivors include his parents, Larry & Evelyn Moore of Ben Wheeler; two brothers, Heath Ellsworth of Red Oak and Larry Noel Moore of Tulsa, OK; and three sisters, Kimberly Dawn Moore of Larsen, WI, Brittnea Moore of Humble and Kristi Pierce of Troup.
Pallbearers will be Peggy Shipman, Shauna Lindsey Williams, Kristi Pierce, Frances Cornwell, Jennifer Wilson, Michele Lee, Shannon Brown and Tiffany Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Debbie Leason, Perry Moore, Donna White, Sally Chambless and Cheryl Thomas.
Memorials may be made to Texas Bank & Trust in Van, to the Joey Moore Memorial Fund.
The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday night at Roundflat Pentecostal Church.
