Memorial services for James Garnett “Jim” Moreau, 88, of Alba, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2023, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Emory, with Father Michael Ledesma officiating, under the direction of his family and church.
Mr. Moreau passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his residence in Alba. He was born November 22, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN, to Arthur Stefan and Margie L. Lawless Moreau. He moved to Alba from Richmond, VA, 24 years ago. Jim was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Emory. He was a retired Colonel in the Army and an aviator, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Jim was also a big fan of Alabama football, “Roll Tide!” He was a rascal, but he generously contributed to the culture of his community and church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Midge Moreau; wife of 38 years, Jane Moreau; son, Jay Moreau; and daughter, Jackie Moreau Field.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Moreau of Leavenworth, KS, and Bruce Moreau of Branson, MO; daughter, Renee Cunningham and husband Scott of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Mary Jo Friedrich and husband Paul and Therese Crivella and husband Joseph; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
