Sandi Lee Newton, 80, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend, passed away at her home in the care of her loving husband on July 4, 2024. Sandi, a resident of Grand Saline Texas, was born September 5, 1943 in Centralia Washington. She is the oldest child born to Glenna Hull and later adopted by Bud Davis.
Sandi graduated from Enterprise High School in Redding CA. She later received training to become a Therapeutic Riding Instructor where she helped handicapped children learn to ride, build their confidence, and aided in their healing.
Sandi had two daughters, Staci Riley & Sylinda Riley-Dressel. On June 8th, 1992 Sandi married the love of her life, Merle Newton. They spent time ranching, camping, horseback riding, packing in the mountains with a pack string, and training cowdogs.
Sandi is survived by her husband Merle Newton, her daughters Staci Riley & Sylinda (Clarence) Riley-Dressel both from South Dakota, Diane (Mike) Ragon of Arlington TX, grandchildren Christopher Klansky of Florida, Alissa McCall of California, Jake Diamond of South Dakota, and one great grandson, Brayden Klansky. Sandi is proceeded in death by her parents Bud and Glenna Davis.
A celebration of Sandi’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 1pm at Spur On Ministries, 2670 South Texas 37 Mineola Texas. Following the family celebration will be a luncheon at Spur On.
