Graveside services for Mr. Dennis Norris, 67, Point, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Pilgrim Rest No. 1 Cemetery, Emory, with Bro. Ian Coleman officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Norris passed away January 2, 2018, at his home in Point. He was born December 5, 1950, in Grand Saline to Lester Truman and Daisy Mae Buchanan Norris. He had lived in Grand Saline, Dallas, and North Richland Hills before moving to Point around 2001. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and worked as a service technician for IBM. He loved riding motorcycles. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; sister, May Vonne Hammonds; brother, David Neil Norris; and nephew, Ricky Doyle Dean.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Sharrel Garner Norris of Point; stepson, Douglas Rash Jr. of Point; four brothers, Derrell Norris and wife DeJuan of Lake Tawakoni, James Brent Norris and wife Debbie of Grand Saline, Randy Norris and wife Tabitha of Grand Saline and Michael Norris of Grand Saline; two sisters, Martha Sue Christy and husband Donnie of Winnsboro and Leslie Corley and husband Robert of Harleton; two grandchildren, Kevin and Justin Rash; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and furry pals.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
