Graveside services for Bonnie Louise Stevison O’Connor, 91, of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Creagleville Cemetery, with Bro. Homer Morgan and Eddie Akins officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. O’Connor passed away November 16, 2021, in Tyler. She was born October 7, 1930, to James Austin and Myrtle Rebecca Huddleston Stevison. Bonnie lived most of her life in Fruitvale. In her younger years, she worked as a carhop and a taxi driver, willing to work wherever to take care of her kids. She was a member of APA (American Pool Association) and an avid pool player. She won three trips to Las Vegas to play in pool events. Bonnie’s car always had a pool theme, with an 8-Ball on the hood. She was a former member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the VFW post 6635. She owned and operated Bonnie’s Bait Shop and Bonnie’s Café, both were in Fruitvale. Bonnie loved to fish for catfish and was known as “Catfish Momma”. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby D. O’Connor, Sr.; brother, James Leon Stevison; daughter, Donna Lou Koonce; grandson, Kelly Fincher; and great-grandson, Joey Don Morgan.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Dean O’Connor, Jr. of Fruitvale; two daughters, Jo Ann Fisher and husband Gary of Fruitvale and Shirley Akins and husband Rusty of Grand Saline; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Gary Fisher, Rusty Akins, Bobby O’Connor, Steven O’Connor, Eddie Akins, and Keith Fincher.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
