ALBA– Graveside services for Jimmie Lou Oliver, 84, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Salem Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Chaplain Robert Stovall officiating.
Ms. Oliver passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Tuesday, July 29, 1930, in Alba, to the late James Elrey “Buddy” and Lola Lawler Murdock. She married James Thomas Turner who preceded her in death, and later she married Leo T. “Punk” Oliver on May 29, 1970, in Oklahoma. They had been married 34 years at his death in 2004. She lived most of her life in Alba before moving to Sulphur Springs three years ago. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Alba.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Latham of Emory, and Brenda Keys and husband Bruce of Sulphur Springs; sister, Lola Bea Newport of Odessa; 5 grandchildren, Tony Curtis, Brien Curtis, Douglas Latham, Cari Latham Weaver, and Christina Keys; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Brenda Faye Murdock and Bennie Ruth Murdock; grandson, Thomas Latham; and great-grandson, Wesley Pruitt.
