Rex Owen

Services for Rex Keith Owen, 85, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. Reggie Day officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Owen passed away July 29, 2021, at his residence in Alba. He was born January 6, 1936, in Commerce to Harvey Eugene and Mary Jewell Parkins Owen. On November 22, 1956, Rex married Jeanan McKenzie in Alba. He retired in August 1992, from the U.S. Forrest Service after 35 years of service. He moved to Alba in September 1992 and was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Rex was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Gene Owen; daughter, Dawn K. Owen; daughter-in-law, Pamela Anne Owen; and granddaughter, Jesselyn Kate Hale.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanan Owen of Alba; two sons, Philip K. (Buck) Owen of Alba and Brett K. Owen and wife Dana of Hillsboro, OR; daughter, Shanna K. Hale and husband Jeff of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Nancy Janell Steed of Alba; eight grandchildren, Heather Gonzalez, Amy Espino, Glenn Owen, Jacelyn Kristy Terrell, Mary Kristyna Stephens, David Ray-Keith Pyron, Jace Keaton Owen, and Brena Kade Owen; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lane Owen, Mark Couch, David Pyron, Chad Lennon, Brad Lennon, and Matthew Stephens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Owen, Charley Benedict, Kim Castloo, Gary McKenzie, Jimmy Don McKenzie, Keith Johnson, Brian Terrell, Wesley McKenzie, and Douglas Hass.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
