MINEOLA – Memorial services for Jerry Wayne Parker, 67, of Mineola, will be held at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Donald Masters officiating under the direction of the family and the church. Cremation arrangements are with Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Parker passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, in a Tyler hospice facility.
He was born September 3, 1946, in Wichita Falls, to the late James Preston and Ruth Ettie Leckliter Parker. He married Linda Faye Avery on September 10, 1966, in DeBerry. He had lived in Wood County for 42 years, and was an overland truck driver. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Mineola.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Faye Parker of Mineola; daughters, Sherry Price and husband Dave of Wolfe City, and Sandra Parker of Sulphur Springs; brothers, Merle Parker of Mineola, and Jim Parker and wife Linda Carol of Golden; sister, Bonnie Sue Whitten, missionary in Bolivia; 2 grandchildren, Amber Munoz and Joey Munoz; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Parker; sister, Betty Alice Parker; brother-in-law, Darrell Whitten; sister-in-law, Janie Parker.
