John Lynn Patten (91) of Lone Oak, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Hunt County Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Lone Oak Cemetery, with Rev. Montie L. Parker officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

Lynn was born to John Foster and Ruby Exer Fowler Patten on May 14, 1928 in Alba, Texas. He married Frances Delphine Simpson on June 5, 1953 in Lone Oak, Texas. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Jason Dale of Lone Oak; daughter, Patsy Patten of Lone Oak; granddaughter, Melissa Dale of Irving; brother, Bill Patten of Midlothian; sister, Margie Moore of Harrison, Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and infant daughter.

He served in the United States Army from October 1950 to October 1952 where he was stationed in Germany. Lynn was a proud United Auto Worker working at the Dallas Ford plant until it closed in February 1970. He later raised cattle with his brother-in-law for several years.
