Merline Patterson

Services for Merline Waldon Patterson, 82, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Rev. Sherrie Beazley officiating.

Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #1 Cemetery, Emory.

Mrs. Patterson passed away December 31, 2023, in Mineola. She was born in Rains County to William Benjamin and Mollie Myrtle Huff Waldon. She moved to Wood County from Raytown, MO, 15 years ago. She enjoyed listening to audio tapes of westerns and drinking coffee and tea. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. Merline was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Bobby Waldon, Jimmy Waldon, Dalton Waldon, Walter Waldon, and Harvey Waldon; two sisters, Dorothy Waldon and Geraldine Young.

Survivors include her son Aubrey Dean Patterson of Midland; daughter, Linda Sue Holmes of Farmersville; two sisters, Anna Kathrine Harrison of Alba and Margie Hill of Emory; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dean Patterson, Colton Holmes, Chance Bollinger, Dylan Patterson, Dusty Drake, Tony Hill, Gary Harrison, and Dennis Harrison.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
