GOLDEN – Services for Buddy Peebles, 84, of Golden, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Jim Parker, Bro. Gay Polk, and Bro. Jerry Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Cedars Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mineola.
Mr. Peebles passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at his residence.
He was born November 3, 1931, in Mineola to the late Carl Theodore and Elsie Almeda Adkins Peebles. He married Nancy Hannah Paul on May 29, 1952, in Fredricksburg, VA. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was an insurance salesman at Washington National Insurance Company. He was a member of the Bright Star Baptist Church in Alba. The family moved from Tyler to Golden in 1973.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nancy Peebles of Golden; son, Milton Lee "Bubba" Peebles II and wife Martha of Alba; 2 daughters, Becky Kilborn and husband James of Golden and Angie Wright and husband Greg of Golden; sister, Elsie Geneva Walton of Mineola; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Carl “Bill” Peebles; and son-in-law, Adam Lee Steele.
Pallbearers are Jeff Woolverton, Ricky Peebles, Barry Head, Zach Kilborn, Gregory Steele, Wesley Etheridge, and Todd Etheridge.
Honorary pallbearers are Washington National Insurance Co-Workers and Golden, Texas Farmers.
Visitation will be Sunday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.
