Services for Penny Dianne York Scott, 61, of Brownsboro, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Richie Reites officiating.

Burial will follow in Creagleville Cemetery.

Penny York Scott passed away January 1, 2026, in Athens. She was born November 7, 1964, in Corsicana, to Wendell Glenn and Jackie Dianne St. Clair York. Penny married Danny Scott in Corsicana on February 24, 1978, and was a devoted mom who raised three sons and three grandchildren. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed every minute spent together. Penny was known for her competitive streak—she was a pro-level Yahtzee player and a master at Hand & Foot card games. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Scott of Brownsboro; three sons, Clyde Scott and wife Amanda of Athens, David Scott of Brownsboro, and Daniel Scott of Kaufman; three brothers, Randy York and wife Yolanda of Houston, Terry York and wife Cynthia of Richland, and Billy York and wife Kathy of Corsicana; sister, Wendy York of Brownsboro; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Scott, David Scott, Billy York, Terry York, and Randy York.
