Dedell Wright Perry
Services for Dedell Vernita Wright Perry, 87, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Brown officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Perry passed away December 18, 2013 in Tyler. She was born January 12, 1926 in Shreveport, LA to Leonard Manuel “Jack” & Dexter Berry Wright. Mrs. Perry spent her early years in Grand Saline and graduated from Grand Saline High School. She later lived with her husband and family in Dallas, Midland and Houston before moving back to Grand Saline in 1981. She was a typist for Magnolia Oil Company and then stayed home with her children as a homemaker. After her children were in school, she worked as an elementary school secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Saline, their Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class and UMW (United Methodist Women). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Caldwell Perry; and brother, Manuel Prather Wright.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Caldwell & Jo Ann Perry of Brownsboro and David Mays & Teresa Perry of Midland; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Dee & Jim Parr of Grand Saline; sister, Nita Wright Armour of Grand Saline; five grandchildren, Ryan Perry, Jamie Ray, Austin Perry, Jared Perry and Colton Perry; great-grandchild, Evan Ray; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Perry, Austin Perry, Jared Perry, Colton Perry, Roger Perry and David Perry.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday at the church.
