Services for Phillip Leo Hettich, 91, of Dallas, Texas, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Posey Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

Interment will follow in Peerless Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Hettich passed away on September 22, 2025. He was born April 21, 1934, in North Hopkins County to Sammie Milburn and Martha Jane Allsip Hettich.

Phillip graduated from North Hopkins High School with the Class of 1952. After moving to Dallas, he worked for Dallas Power & Light while attending college and later earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University, becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He was an active member of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club, where he served two terms as President, and he also gave his time and leadership as a longtime member of the Board of Directors at Dedman Hospital in Dallas (known now as Dallas Medical Center).

In 1995, Phillip met his sweetheart, Alma Box, and together they shared 30 wonderful years. Their life was filled with travel across the United States, square dancing, and memorable trips to Europe and Canada. One of their favorite traditions was enjoying Friday night dinners at Tupinamba Mexican Restaurant in Dallas.

In 2024, Phillip moved to Lyndale Memory Care in Abilene, Texas, where he received loving care from the dedicated staff. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the compassion and kindness shown to him in his final year.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hurshel Leon Hettich; and his sister Jean Singleton.

He is survived by his sweetheart, Alma Box of Dallas; sons, Phil Hettich Jr. and wife Bobette of Abilene, and Ron Hettich and wife Margie of Cascade, Maryland; sister, Patsy Galbraith of Athens; grandchildren, Colter, Hunter, Sam, and Anna; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews to whom he was a cherished uncle.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Hettich, Colter Hettich, Sam Hettich, Anna Hettich, James Marshall, and Stephan Singleton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
