ALBA – Services for Kenneth David Phillips, 70, of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Jack Culpepper officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 in a Dallas hospital.
He was born July 19, 1943, in Maple, to the late Daniel L. and Velva Ragsdale Phillips. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era, and lived most of his life in Pleasant Grove in Dallas before moving to Alba in 1982. He owned and operated Ken’s Air Conditioning and Heating Business Service, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his brother, Evert Phillips and wife Sherry of Winnsboro; sisters, Dovie Bounds of Quitman, Nellie Hubbard of Quartzsite, Arizona; Alice Sharp and husband John of Roswell, New Mexico, and Loryn Barbee and husband John of Grand Junction, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Jo Niebeo of Palestine and Ann Phillips of Emory.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Phillips, Lorial Phillips, and Roy Phillips; and nephew, Harold Phillips.
Pallbearers are Jeremiah Phillips, Joshua Phillips, David Allen Bounds, James Phillips, Jr., Curtis Phillips, Larry Phillips, and Jimmy Phillips.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
