Oliver Plunk

January 8, 1950 — April 7, 2017

Oliver Leon Plunk was born January 8, 1950, to Allen & Mary Nell Plunk. He served as a Specialist in the US Army and then had worked as a flooring installer for the last 40 years. He never met a stranger and was known to many as “Granddaddy”. He loved fishing, dancing, playing dominos, playing with his grandson and watching his granddaughters play softball. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Garland Plunk; brother-in-law, John Harley; and sister-in-law, Beverly Plunk.
Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Chitty of Grand Saline and Angela Plunk of Van; sons, Shannon Plunk of Grand Prairie and Kasey Plunk and wife Kris of Arlington; brothers, Robert Plunk of Van and Phillip Plunk and wife Jamie of Terrell; sisters, Madelon Followell and husband Harold of Mesquite and JoNell Harley of Grand Saline; grandchildren, Bailey and Taylor Chitty of Grand Saline, Kamryn and Kason Plunk of Arlington and Nick Fincher of Grand Saline; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of Van Zandt County in lieu of flowers.
The family and church will be handling services for Mr. Plunk on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 10 a.m., at The Church of Garden Valley.
