Services for Mr. Jessie “Sonny Man” Poole, 92 of Fruitvale are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline with Bro. Carl Waddell officiating.
Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, 10331 FM 1795, Big Sandy, TX.
Mr. Poole passed away February 3, 2012 in The Colony. He was born December 28, 1919 in Hawkins to William Lonnie & Chara Pilcher Poole. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He spent most all of his life in the East Texas area where he worked as a truck driver and was a member of Lawrence Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Elizabeth Poole; four brothers, Myers Poole, Richard Poole, Billy Poole and Paul Poole; sister, Lurita Davis.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles & Mildred Poole of Mineola and David & Danette Poole of The Colony; daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Robert Field of Haslet; sister, Catherine Belcher of Mesquite; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
