A Celebration of Life service for Marilyn “Louise” Poston Means, 82, of Alba, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at Enon Baptist Church with Pastor Reggie Day and Brother Tibby Wright officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Means passed away January 6, 2024, in Bullard. She was born August 2, 1941, in Gilmer, TX, to Walter Edgar & Mary Ann (Brown) Moore. Louise lived most of her life in Rains, Wood, and Van Zandt County. She went to high school at Rains and was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She retired from the Alba Post Office and also worked as a dairy farmer, cattle rancher, and homemaker. Louise loved her family, grandkids sports, playing basketball, bingo, and Pokeno.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John E. Means, father of her sons James D. Poston, and her 7 siblings, Billy, Ann, Dan, Beth, Grayborn, Carl and Sandra. Most devastating was the loss of her precious grandson James “Mike” Poston.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim and wife Carol of Tyler, and Gilley and wife Gay of Alba; four grandchildren. – Ashley Nelson and husband Brian of Charlottesville, VA., Lindsey Pond and husband Brian of Midland, TX, Dakota Poston and wife Alicia of Alba, TX, and Chelsey Sheehan, and husband Riley of Pflugerville, TX; 6 Great-grandchildren, Maddox, Hensley, James, Johnny, Lucas, and Everett; various nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Poston, Justin Hass, Jake Hass, Maddox Nelson, Riley Sheehan, and Rob Pfaff.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Great-grandchildren.
