John Pryor Sr

Memorial services to honor the life of Mr. John Thomas Pryor, Sr., 80, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home.

Mr. Pryor passed away December 31, 2023, at his home in Grand Saline. Born on March 19, 1943, to Cecil Ned & Oben Jane Rawson Pryor, John Thomas Sr. grew up in Grand Prairie and married Marion Pratt there in 1966. After dedicated service in the US Army, he retired from Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie. Residing in Grand Saline for the past 41 years, he became a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church and Grand Saline Masonic Lodge #1269. Additionally, he worked as Transportation Director for GSISD.

Mr. Pryor was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Lukas Kyle Humphrey; two sisters, Mary Lee Creel, and Mattie Lenora Gastineau; and brother, Doris Ned Pryor.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marion Pryor of Grand Saline; two sons, Thomas Pryor, Jr. and wife Loretta of Grand Saline, and Joseph Pryor and wife Jennifer of Columbus; daughter, Jenniffer Smith and husband Brad of Van; sister, Lynda Pryor of Van; eight grandchildren, John Pryor III, Lillie Pryor, Rawson Pryor, Jack Pryor, Jarrett Pryor, Cole Humphrey & wife Brianne, Levi Humphrey, and Jake Humphrey; three great-grandchildren, Finley Rose Wilson, Riley Jane Pryor, and Gemma Eve Humphrey; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday.
