Services for Georgia Pugh, 99, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Brown officiating.
Mrs. Pugh passed away September 24, 2014 in Grand Saline. She was born, March 1, 1915 in Edgewood to Thomas Elisha & Willie Murrey Vickery. Georgia spent her early years in Edgewood and the last 78 years in Grand Saline. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she attended the Stanley Friedline and Pairs & Spares Sunday School classes. She also served many years on the church council. Mrs. Pugh owned and operated Pugh Hardware from 1946 until 2002 and continued the bookkeeping until 2012. She was Den Mother for Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts and was very active with her husband in the Grand Saline Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Perry Pugh Sr.; three brothers, Worth Vickery, James Vickery and Thomas Elisha “Tot” Vickery; and five sisters, Gladys Mills, Winnie Grier, Audrey Dugan, Doreen Tucker and Pauline Smith.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas & “Sam” Pugh and Marion Perry “Mutt” & Nancy Pugh, all of Grand Saline; daughter and son-in-law, Emile & Harry Clifford of Grand Saline; sister-in-law, Bobbi Pugh of Longview; five grandchildren, Travis Lane Clifford, Tim Hays, David Pugh, Andrea Marshall and Scott Hines; five great-grandchildren, Jaxson Clifford, Harley Clifford, Matthew Hays, Stephen Hays and Brittany; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jay Mills, Don Bryant, Travis Clifford, Bob Gray, Randal Gary, John Rash, John Hodge and Richard Ingrim.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline.
