ALBA – Services for John Walton Ralph Sr., 76, of Alba, are scheduled for 1 pm Friday, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Gerald Kelly and Earl Warren officiating.
Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery, Colfax.
Mr. Ralph passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, at a nursing home in Grand Saline.
John was born Sunday, August 13, 1939, in Vinemont, Alabama, to the late Robert Linzie Sr. and Eunice Helen Lamon Ralph. He married Anna Ruth Morris on June 8, 1963, in Dallas. They moved from Fruitvale and had lived in Alba for the last 7 years. John served in the Army and worked in maintenance for the Grand Prairie Water Department. He also worked for the World of Animals of Forney and the Lion Country Safari of Grand Prairie. He was a member of the Alba Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Anna Ruth Ralph of Alba; son, John Walton Ralph Jr. of Alba; daughter, Karen Lynn & husband John Gibson of Wills Point; 3 sisters, Gracie Lee Petty of Fort Worth, Sue Cadle of Cullman, Alabama, and Helen Bowen of Cullman, Alabama; 5 grandchildren, Roy Dan Ralph, Jonathon Casey Ralph, Ethan Chance Ralph, Jett Grace Ralph, and John Richard Gibson II; and 1 great-granddaughter, Taryn Braylee Ralph.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Linzie Ralph Jr.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Morris, Marvin Mullins, and Ethan Ralph.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
