Troy Redd Sr

Funeral services for Troy Edward Redd, Sr, age 87 of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba with Bro. David Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba.

Troy passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home in Alba. He was born April 12, 1936, in Dallas to the late Marvin Edward and Mattie Lee (Harlow) Redd. Troy has lived in Wood County for the last 25 years and was previously of Mesquite. He served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Baptist Volunteer Builders, and Lake Fork Baptist Church where he designed and coordinated the church’s electrical work. Troy worked throughout his life as an Electrician and after 40 years retired from the IBEW Local Union 20 in Dallas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his beloved family. Troy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy James Redd; and sister, Alta Faye Griswold.

Troy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Redd of Alba; son, Troy Redd Jr. and wife, Sherry of Mesquite; daughter, Sandra Bland and husband, Troy of Orangefield; grandchildren, Andrea, Alicia, Travis, Jason, and Cody; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Redd, Jason Bland, Cody Redd, Rene Dominguez, Randy Webster, and Keith Ramsey.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
