Charles Reed

Services for Charles M. Reed,79, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Bartley Funeral Home with Kyle White officiating.

Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Reed passed away May 13, 2014 in Tyler. He was born November 3, 1934 in Dallas. Charles was a Senior Master Sgt. of the United States Air Force, retired after 23 years of service and was a Purple Heart recipient. He served our country in 2 tours to Vietnam, 1 to Taiwan, and also spent time in Spain and the Philippines during his military career. His last sixteen years were spent in Grand Saline. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde A. Reed; mother, Ella Mae Greene; one daughter, Dannie Sue Reed; and one brother, Clyde Reed, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Billie Jo Reed of Grand Saline; one son, Richard Charles Reed of Springtown; four grandchildren, Tim Laudermilt, Chad Ellis, Adam Ellis, and Brent Andres; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jody Mayne, Wilford Lee Skinner, Jr., Tim Laudermilt, Chad Ellis, Adam Ellis, and Brent Andres.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
