Johnny Rice, Sr.

Services for Johnny Ray Rice, Sr., 86, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church with Bro. Byron George officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mr. Rice passed away May 5, 2021, in Mineola. He was born August 25, 1934, in Quinlan, to Isaac Jackson and Molly Doris Melton Rice. On March 2, 1970, he married Rose Marie Bullock in Dallas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Johnny had lived 49 years in the Alba area and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. He loved to race on dirt tracks, restore antique tractors, fishing, and camping. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 41 years, Rose Rice; two sons, Johnny Rice, Jr., and Roger Rice; daughter, Connie Mize; brother, Emil Rice; and sister, Christine Milliken.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Reynolds and husband David of Alba and Judy Dryer and husband Wilbert of Centerville; son, Johnny J. Rice and wife Mary of Seligman, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Roger Rice, Eric Rice, Justin Hayes, Tyler Dryer, Jonathan Mize, Josh Mize, Braden Reynolds, and Yolanda Scott; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Roger Rice, Braden Reynolds, Josh Mize, Justin Hayes, Jonathan Mize, and Tyler Dryer.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Friday at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
