Jerry Richards

Jerry Douglas “Butch” Richards, of Quitman, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 80. Butch was born on May 7, 1944, in Winnsboro. He worked in Real Estate for several years. His favorite past times were hunting, team roping and wheeling and dealing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry “J.K.” and Polly Baber Richards and sister, Patsy “Pat” Richards Cameron.

Butch is survived by his sisters, Kathy Cain (Cliff), Keller, LaNelle Cates (Steve), Quitman, Nancy Kennedy (Royce), Winnsboro, Janey Hayes (Tony), Quitman, Suzy Wright (Todd), Quitman; brother-in-law, Joe Dan Cameron, Quitman; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-nephew.

The family would like to thank Caraday Nursing Home and Reflections of Texas for their love and care towards Butch.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Forest Hill Baptist Church, Quitman, with Bro. Fred Morrow officiating, under the direction of the church and family. Visitation will be after the service.
