Gayla Genice Richeson ,73 went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2024. Gayla was born in Pittsburg Texas on June 3, 1951, to Gene and Betty Easterling.
Gayla spent the majority of her younger years in Talco, Texas with her grandmother Jewel Easterling “Big Momma”.
On May 23, 1991, she married the love of her life Jerry Lynn Richeson .
She loved music, fried potatoes, sweet tea, and not a day went by that she did not watch her beloved soap operas.
Gayla was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She was kind to everyone and generous. Prior to her passing she made arrangements for groceries to be purchased and donated to the local residence of her neighborhood. Her wish was fulfilled.
Gayla’s survivors include her 3 sons, Greg Carpenter & wife Kathryn, Chad Warren & wife Mary, and Charles Richeson; 2 daughters, Regina Whitten & husband James and Trudy Richeson Carr & husband Steve; 10 grandchildren, Trinity W, Jean W, Marley W, Juliana W, Brandon G, Bailey G, Brianna G, Brody G, Steven “T-bone”, and Kimberly Nicole; 1 brother , Ronny Easterling & wife Kat; 2 nephews, and many great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 33 years, Jerry Lynn Richeson; parents, Gene Easterling and Calvin and Betty Story; son, Jerry L Richeson Jr.; and grandson, Joseph L. Richeson.
A private memorial is being planned for a later date.
