Jerry Richeson

Mr. Jerry Lynn Richeson, 80, passed away June 7, 2024, at his residence in Mt. Pleasant. He was born May 28, 1944, in Deport, to L.D. and Trudy Marie Blalock Richeson. Jerry had lived all his life in the Mt. Pleasant area. On May 23, 1991, he married Gayla Genice Easterling in Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed traveling, going to the lake, and spending time with his family. Jerry loved his wife dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Lynn Richeson, Jr.; and grandson, Joseph Lynn Richeson.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Gayla Richeson ; two sons, Charles Richeson and Greg Carpenter and wife Kathryn; three daughters, Trudy Richeson Carr and husband Steve, Paula Maldonado and husband Chris, and Gina Whitten and husband James; three brothers, Mark Richeson, Joe Dan Richeson, and Rickey Dale Richeson and wife Patricia; five sisters, Cynthia Jones and husband Stanley, Amanda Jones, Sheila “Red” Reel, Lisa Smith and Sandra Milner and Stanley Dufrene; ten grandchildren, Steven “T-Bone” Carr, Felicia Rios, Kimberly Richeson, Emma Richeson, Letisia Vazques, Antonia Tharp, Caleb Richeson, Landon Richeson, Jerrett Brannon, and Sierra Simmons; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

The family will be planning a memorial service for Jerry at a later date.
