ALBA – Services for Oleta Fay Roach, 86, of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Gib Maynard officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roach passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, at her residence.
She was born December 21, 1925, in Greenville to the late Wesley and Ruby Robertson West (Cook). She grew up in Wills Point and had lived in Alba since 1943. She married Virgil N. Roach on August 22, 1943, in Wills Point. She was a seamstress for Buddy Schoellkoph Manufacturing for 33 years, a homemaker, and a member of County Line Baptist Church of Yantis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Floyd West and Gene West; sister, Juanita Ray Langley; grandchildren, Kenneth Scott Burns, Justin Roach, Gary Boyd, and Dorrie Tanner; great-grandchildren, Madison Moffett and Kate Louderman.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Virgil Roach of Alba; sons and spouses, Glenn and JoAnn Roach of Shirley, Larry and Mary Roach of Yantis, V.T. and Lena Roach of Cherokee, Oklahoma, and Richard and Tina Roach of Golden; daughters and spouses, Deloris and Lester Taylor of Kaufman, Gloria Chaney of Sulphur Springs, Becky Kennedy of Hawkins, Sue and Phil Jones and Angela and Jim Maynard all of Golden; 33 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are David Bockes, Brandon Hass, Daniel Roach, and Chad Roach.
Honorary pallbearers are Steven Roach, Jason Jones, Aaron Maynard, and Darian Chaney.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
