Billy Roberts

ALBA – Services for Billy Wayne Roberts, 76, of Alba, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Todd McGahee officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Sand Springs Cemetery, Mineola.
Mr. Roberts passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Tuesday, October 17, 1939, in Point, to the late Burlin Eugene and Nellie May Akins Roberts. He moved to Wood County in 1972 from Dallas. He was a painter.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Nell Roberts of Alba; sons, Coy Wayne Roberts of Gilmer, Tracy Steven Roberts and Kevin Ray Roberts both of Lubbock; brothers, Burlin Junior Roberts of Mesquite, Johnny Charles Roberts of Rowlett, and Clarence Harvey Roberts of Point; sisters, Geneva Lois Fields of Paris, Donna Sue Strebeck of Emory, Shirley Ann Gavin of Dermott, AR, Betty June Morrow and Judy Carol Carson both of Emory; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Lee Roberts; brothers, Clifford Eugene Roberts, James L “Dock” Roberts, and Harold Ray Roberts; sisters, Thelma Lee Cook, Helen Ruth Helms, and Wanda Joyce Hudson.
Visitation will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
