Rickey Rushing

Mr. Rickey Lynn Rushing, 68, of Alba, passed away December 3, 2023, in Alba. He was born September 7, 1955, in Dallas, to John Dee and Otta Lee Taylor Rushing. He lived most of his life in the Leonard and Alba area. He was an honest man who loved his family dearly. Rickey was a people person, who never met a stranger. He liked being outdoors and going fishing. He enjoyed all American foods; burgers, steaks, fish, and anything fried. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Otis and Ethel Gilbreath Taylor and Thomas Cannon and Emma Flanagan Rushing; brother-in-law, Kenny Hinsley; and cousin, Tommy Deel.

Survivors include his two sons, John Rushing and Laura Williams of Royse City and Clayton Rushing and Alyssa Guidry of Lewisville; brother, Mike Rushing and wife Donna of Leonard; sister, Rebecca Hinsley and husband Joe of Palestine; mother of his children, Ana Ashby and husband John of Dallas; cousin, Ginger Sweeden of Alba; several nephews; one niece; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
