Helen Louise Murphy Savage
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Louise Savage (Murphy), 89 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Central Pentecostal Church with Pastor Garvin Pulley officiating.
Interment will be in Central/Shields Cemetery.
After a long battle with failing health, Helen entered into eternal life June 20, 2012. Helen was born April 15, 1923 in Grand Saline to M.M. (Pud) Murphy and Eva Etta Newton. She married Sam Savage on January 6, 1941. Helen worked for K-Wolens Department Store and worked from her home as a seamstress. She was co-owner and operator of the Saline Café in Grand Saline 1965-1972. She was a member of Central Pentecostal Church in Grand Saline. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Survivors include four sisters and one brother. Those remaining behind to cherish the memories of her are her children: Sammy & Ruth Savage of Grand Saline and Brenda & Don Bryant of Grand Saline; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Bryant, Nathan Minor, Russell Bishop and Ken Bishop.
Memorials may be made to Central Pentecostal Church Building Fund, Central/Shields Cemetery of Grand Saline or the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12 p.m. until service time on Saturday.
