Ola Schones

Graveside services for Ola Imogene Lester Schones, 85, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Donelton Cemetery, Lone Oak, with Bro. Mark Slaughter officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.

Mrs. Schones passed away August 10, 2022, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born February 9, 1937, in Dallas to James Whitfield and Alta Leona Johnson Lester. On December 13, 1954, she married Donnie Ray Schones in Tarrant County. Imogene moved from Dallas to Lone Oak 60 years ago and was a member of Donelton Baptist Church. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their families. She also enjoyed cooking breakfast for everyone. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Donnie Ray Schones; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Schones and wife Tammie of Lone Oak; daughter, Debbie Slaughter and husband Mark of Lone Oak; sister, Charlene Smith of Gresham, Oregon; five grandchildren, Michael Slaughter and wife Ashley, Natasha Smallwood and husband Jessie, Wendal Schones and wife Tiffany, Caleb Schones and wife Rikki, and Rosa Schones and Joey; eleven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jon, Monica, Preston, Katie, Tyler, Charlie, Sadie, Memphis, Gemma Nell, and Kayden; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
