Mr. William Leslie Scudder, 79, Lone Oak, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in Greenville, following a brief illness.
William was born in Shreveport, LA, on July 9, 1940 to the late Cleatus and Eunice Underwood Scudder. He graduated from Fair Park H.S. in 1958. William married Bobbie Seal on June 16, 1962. He proudly served in the US Army and in the Army Reserves. Mr. Scudder retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. He was a longtime resident of Lone Oak where he was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, served on the Lone Oak ISD School Board for several years, and was a member of the Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling BIG fishing stories.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Florance "Bobbie" Scudder; son, Bill Scudder and wife Tracy of Covington, LA; daughters, Deranda Meyers and husband George of Mesquite and Selena Hogue and husband Wesley of Greenville; grandsons, Sam Scudder of Shreveport, LA and Blayne Miller of Sherman; granddaughter, Cynthia Hogue of Murfreesboro, TN; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service 2 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Cook officiating.
