Mary Verlene Shaddox

Services for Mary Verlene Shaddox, 81, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Shaddox passed away May 23, 2015, in San Antonio. She was born February 2, 1934, in Van Zandt County to William Jethro & Gertrude Viola Barber Melton. Mrs. Shaddox spent her early years in Grand Saline, and many years in Terrell and Dallas before returning to Grand Saline in 1992, after she retired from LaQuinta Motor Inns. She had lived in San Antonio for the last five years.She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church and was also a member of WMA. She moved her membership to Richland Heights Baptist Church in Grand Saline. Mrs. Shaddox was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Shaddox; and two infant grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Elton Shaddox Jr. and wife Julie of College Station and Rex William Shaddox and wife Melody of San Antonio; sister, Audrey Shaddox of Dallas; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Charles Elton Shaddox, Jr., Rex William Shaddox, John T Shaddox, Joel William Shaddox, Charles Hand IV and Merle Mishler.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
