William Shafer

Services for Mr. William "Bill" Shafer, 62, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Taylor and Bro. Mitch Curtis officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Bill passed away January 31, 2017, at his home. He was born April 28, 1954, in DeKalb to William Travis & Edyth Lynn Hutchinson Shafer. He spent all of his life in Grand Saline where he was a cattle buyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Choice Shafer.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Shafer of Grand Saline; two daughters, Misty Shafer Sterne and husband Kelly of Flower Mound, and Amy Renee Shafer and Ray Watson of Grand Saline; step-daughter, Lisa Bammel and husband Matthew of Henderson; brother, Bart Shafer and wife Donna of Carthage; sister, Charolet Shafer Hazel of Grand Saline; seven grandchildren, Riley, Conley, Jayden, Kenny, Kaedynce, Aezlyn, and Morgan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ben Sloan, Buddy Edwards, Terry Lynn Dickerson, Gerald Carnes, Ronny Joslin, Jimmy Pickens, Mike Land and David Duck.
Honorary pallbearers will be order buyers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., February 2, 2017 at Bartley Funeral Home.
