Services for Rhonda Jeannette Wilson Sherwood, 61, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Sherwood passed away March 1, 2025, at her residence in Alba. She was born March 14, 1963, in Dallas. Rhonda moved from Mesquite to the Alba area 40 years ago. On January 17, 1987, she married James Byron “Rusty” Sherwood in Quitman. She enjoyed working, sitting on the porch with her husband, and spending time with her family. Rhonda was always the light in the room. She worked for 15 years at the International Association of Decorators Union 756 before she started her career at Morton Salt in Grand Saline for the following 15 years. She was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba. Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Jean Pike; twin sister, Shanda Ruth Wilson; brother, Gary Ray Wilson; stepson, James Russell Sherwood; and stepdaughter, Stacey Diane Sherwood Ralph.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Rusty Sherwood of Alba; son, Brenton Ray Sherwood of Alba; two daughters, Tina Jeanette Sherwood of Alba and Thosha Runnette Garrett and husband James Padgett of Winnsboro; two brothers, Greg Shelton and wife Jana of Scurry and Michael Shelton and wife Michelle of Mesquite; sister, Cindy Shelton-Reynolds of Balch Springs; five grandchildren, Andrew Ortiz, Kash Cluck, Jett Ramirez, Jonathan Ralph, and Ethan Ralph; four great-grandchildren, Taryn Ralph, Daxton Ralph, Phoenix Ramirez, and Hendrix Ramirez; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Greg Shelton, Michael Shelton, Brenton Sherwood, Christopher Ramirez, Scott Lyles, Sammy Sage, Aaron Sage, and Ethan Ralph.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
