Graham Slagle

ALBA – Memorial services for Graham “Pete” Slagle, 85, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Alba, under the direction of the family and the church with Bro. Kelly Burton officiating.
Mr. Slagle passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016, at his residence in Alba.
He was born on August 20, 1931, in Marion, VA, to the late Gordon Wesley Slagle and Linnie Tulitha Hawks Slagle. He married Delores Jean Gibbs on May 15, 1982, in Lampasas, TX. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and had retired from 5 different occupations: Shop Foreman at Fort Hood, Deputy Sherriff of Lampasas, Counselor with Central Counties Mental Health, Transportation & Mechanic with Lometa ISD, and ATM Specialist with Loomis Fargo. Graham has lived in Alba since 1991 and also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alba.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Delores Slagle of Alba; sons, Thomas Leon Slagle of Lubbock, Gregory Goggans of Hewitt, Bryan Goggans of Hewitt, and Steven Goggans of Alba; daughters, Marcia Dozier of Desoto, KS, Judy Slagle of Lometa, and Deanna Cross of Killeen; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Gordon Slagle; brothers, Junior Slagle, Paul Slagle, and Harold Slagle; sisters, Margaret Pennington, Roberta Hayton, and Genevieve Bowen.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
