LONE OAK - Services for Ramona P. Smith, 85, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Lone Oak Civic Center with Bro. Sam Calk and Bro. Danny Calk officiating.
Interment will be in Hall Cemetery under the direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, in Greenville. She was born November 15, 1930, in Lone Oak to the late James and Mildred Lawson Payne. She lived most of her life in Hunt County and worked many years as an office manager/secretary for Sabine River Authority in Point, Shirey's in Greenville (Manufactured Children’s Clothes), Bartley’s Funeral Home in Lone Oak, and Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Ramona was a member of the Bull Creek Cowboy Church in Lone Oak.
Survivors include her son, Herb Smith of Lone Oak; daughter, Tammy & Russell Carter of Lone Oak; brother, Guy W. Payne of Lone Oak; two sisters, Frances L. Van Burkirk of Payson, AZ and Leona F. Holleman of Quinlan; five grandchildren, Clinton Dan Smith, Jennifer Nicole Cliburn, Julie Denise Smith, Herbert Smith IV, and Ramona Ann Carter; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.P. Smith Jr.; son, Lewis Dan Smith; and four brothers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Civic Center in Lone Oak.
