Robert Smitty

Services for Robert “Butch” Carl Smitty, 81, of Emory, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Robert Burns officiating.

Interment will be in Crandall Cemetery.

Mr. Smitty passed away November 9, 2023, at his residence in Emory. He was born November 19, 1941, in Dallas, to Bob and Alta Louise Kelly Smitty. On May 17, 1958, he married Martha LeeAnn Tucker in Dallas. Together, they moved from Dallas to Emory, 27 years ago. Butch was a faithful child of God and a member of Miracle Faith Baptist Church, Emory. He enjoyed trucks, racing and working puzzles. He loved his family and grandkids with a passion. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Smitty; sisters, Rita Crecy and Shirley Sanders; and brothers, Charlie Ray Smitty and Granville Smitty.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Martha Smitty of Emory; two daughters, Carolyn Gail Smitty of Caddo Mills and Ruth Ann Willingham and husband Steve of Mesquite; brother, Bobby Lynn Smitty and wife Angie of Point; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Alfonso Ureta, Mark Graham, Dalton Graham, Taylor Willingham, J.C. Smitty, and J.T. Smitty.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
