Services for John Burt Snyder, 83, of Emory, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Emory Church of Christ, with Paul Foley and Cody McCoy officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #1 Cemetery, Emory.
Mr. Snyder passed away September 17, 2020, in Sulphur Springs. He was born January 18, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Harvey G.L. and Virginia Jupitor Stinson Snyder. On January 18, 1963, John married Mary Frances Cline in Dallas. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a computer technician for IBM in Dallas for thirty-two years, before retiring. John had lived the last sixteen years in Emory and was a member of the Emory Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; one stepson; one stepdaughter; and one son-in-law.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Frances Snyder of Emory; three daughters, Carrie Davis and husband Rick of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lori Foster of Mesquite, and Stephanie Fawcett of Holly Lake Ranch; sister, Louise Kuhne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Snyder, Jerot Snyder, Jonas Snyder, and Robert Snyder, Kris Fawcett, John Fawcett, and Chad Perry.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the church.
