sons and daughters-in-law. She was born on August 17, 1940, in McCamey, to Clarence Albert and
Mary Elizabeth McDougal Weddle. A lifelong resident of McCamey, Peggy graduated from McCamey
High School and went on to become a dedicated and active member of her community. She owned
and operated Peggy’s Beauty Shop, served many years as a volunteer EMT, and was honored with

Badger for life. Peggy also contributed her time and leadership as a member of the McCamey ISD
School Board where she served several terms.
For a brief time, she lived in Kent, Washington, where she helped build a church, but her heart
remained in McCamey, where she soon returned. She later retired from West Texas Utilities after
many years of service as a Distribution Center Manager. After retiring from WTU, she moved to
Grand Saline to be closer to several members of her family.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Frances Elliott, Gus Weddle, Dolly
Winfield, Lou Smith, Bea Houck, Betty Lott, and Bobby Weddle.

Aransas Pass; sister, Pat Stroud of Grand Saline; five grandchildren, Casie, Tiffanee, Jaylin, Brandon,
and Brian; and numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church of Fruitvale and loved her church community.
