Mr. Frederick William “Pede” Stark, 68, of Grand Saline, Texas passed away August 16, 2021. He was born December 25, 1952, in Chatearoux, France, to Frederick Gustav & Yvette Charlotte Morain Stark.
Fred enlisted in the Air Force in 1972, served a tour of duty in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1976. He lived most of his life in San Diego, California, and married Teresa Murray there in 1985. He worked with Boys Brigade and was Director of Awana Pals at Scott Memorial Baptist Church. He was an Awana Boys “TNT” leader and Deacon at First Baptist Church, Lemon Grove. He was involved in mission trips to Mexico during his years with both churches. He help with Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child. He moved to Grand Saline three years ago, where he was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton and was a leader with the Awana Boys “TNT”. Fred served in Awana for 35 years.
Mr. Stark is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Teresa Stark of Grand Saline; four brothers, Patrick Stark of Sperryville, VA, Robert Stark of Culver, OR, David Stark of San Diego, CA, and Dennis Stark of Manassas, VA; two sisters, Danielle Tetrault (Hill Air Force Base) of Roy, UT, and Patricia Sanders of San Diego, CA; four nieces and nephews, Elise Michael of Plant City, FL, Yvette Engls of Brighton, MA, Heather Berthelson of Roy, UT, and Jacob Stark of Denver, CO; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child or an Awana Missionary - Tim Sandoval
The family will be handling a Celebration of Life service for him at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton.
