Homer Starkweather Jr

LONE OAK – Graveside services for Homer Clark Starkweather Jr., 81, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Donelton Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Homer passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at his residence. He was born August 17, 1934, in New London, Connecticut, to the late Homer Clark Sr. and Geraldine Emma Smith Starkweather. He served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War and retired as Sgt. Major after 30 years of service. He has lived in Lone Oak for the last 28 years and was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include daughter, Faith Browning and husband Hugh of Waxahachie; sister, Florence Rollins of Groton, Connecticut; and 2 grandchildren, Odos Matthews IV and Airy Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Starkweather; and four brothers, William, Robert, Everton, and Alvin.
